Root Canal

A root canal is a common treatment used to save a tooth that has been badly infected or damaged. Instead of removing the tooth, the dentist removes the infected pulp (the soft inner tissue containing nerves and blood vessels), thoroughly cleans the inside of the root canals, and seals the space with a protective filling material.

What to Expect
With modern anesthetics and techniques, root canal therapy is usually no more uncomfortable than a regular filling. The procedure time can range from 30 minutes to a couple of hours depending on how complex the case is.

This treatment helps eliminate pain, prevents further infection, and allows patients to keep their natural teeth.
