What clear aligner treatment do our dentists provide?
Clear aligners at the practice are for adults only and are provided by our dentists; Smartee is the system used at the practice.
Problems our dentists treat with them include mild to moderate crowding and spacing, along with bite correction. Complex and extraction cases are assessed case by case; some need braces or a combined approach.
How aligners straighten teeth, and their risks, are explained on our page about straightening teeth with removable aligners. Whether aligners suit a particular problem is covered in the site's suitability section, among the options in this section. For the stages of treatment in order, browse this section on the treatment process.

What is the general guidance on orthodontic appointment frequency?
British Orthodontic Society (BOS) general guidance, written for children and adults, says orthodontic treatment usually needs regular appointments every four to ten weeks.
BOS adds that “it is not advisable to start treatment if you know you will not be able to keep these appointments”. That spacing is given for orthodontic treatment in general, with no appliance named, so it is general guidance rather than a set timetable for clear aligners.
