On the A6102, with parking at the door
We are on Manchester Road in Deepcar, the main road that runs up the Don Valley from Hillsborough through Oughtibridge to Stocksbridge and on towards the Woodhead Pass. From Sheffield city centre, take the A61 Penistone Road past Hillsborough, then follow the A6102 through Wadsley Bridge and Oughtibridge; the journey is around 25 minutes outside rush hour. From Barnsley and the M1, leave at junction 36 and follow the A61 then A616 towards Stocksbridge, or come over the tops via Penistone on the A628. From Rotherham, junction 35A of the M1 and the A616 is the quickest route.
Look for the practice on the left as you drive north through Deepcar, shortly before the turning for Carr Road. There is free parking immediately outside. If you are coming by public transport, buses between Sheffield and Stocksbridge stop within a couple of minutes’ walk, and the Supertram terminus at Middlewood is a short bus or taxi ride away. Patients regularly travel to us from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Huddersfield for same-day emergency care and for implant treatment, because a 30-minute drive to a confirmed appointment is usually faster than waiting for a slot closer to home.
If you are in pain, call before you set off. We will confirm a time, tell you what to do on the way, and have the room ready when you arrive. For anything involving difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling that is closing your eye, go to A&E at the Northern General Hospital instead.

Practical questions
Where exactly are you?
At 334 Manchester Road, Deepcar, Sheffield S36 2RH, on the A6102 between Oughtibridge and Stocksbridge, about a mile south of Fox Valley. The practice is on the main road with parking directly outside.
Is there parking?
Yes. Free parking is directly outside the practice, and there is further on-street parking on Manchester Road. You do not need to pay or register a vehicle.
Can I get to you by bus?
Yes. Buses between Sheffield, Hillsborough and Stocksbridge run along Manchester Road and stop close to the practice. From Hillsborough, the Supertram runs to Middlewood, from where the bus or a short taxi ride brings you up the valley.
Are you open on bank holidays?
Most bank holidays we open as normal, 8am to 8pm. Please call first to confirm on the day, as occasionally we run a reduced rota.
Is the practice wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The surgeries are on the ground floor with step-free access from the car park, and there is an accessible toilet. Let us know if you need any other adjustments.
Do I need to register before an emergency appointment?
No. Call, tell us what is happening, and come in. We take your details when you arrive. The £30 emergency examination includes X-rays.
How do I get my records or X-rays?
Email info@deepcardentalcare.co.uk with your name and date of birth. We can send copies to you or directly to another practice with your consent, usually within a few working days.
