How is composite bonding priced?

The Deepcar Dental Care fee list has one composite bonding line, "Composite Bonding Per Tooth", which gives a starting fee rather than a range. Your own fee depends on your assessment. The fee list was checked on 16 October 2026, and it says fees are reviewed periodically and may change.

Composite bonding adds tooth-coloured composite to the surface of a tooth to change its shape, edges or spacing, and it usually needs no drilling and no injection. The main bonding page covers reshaping teeth with composite in more depth.

To ask about the fee for your own teeth, call 0114 288 2121.

What does a full smile of composite bonding cost?

The current fee list has no line for full-smile bonding or for the bonding packages, so their fees are not published.

Options include four, six, eight and ten tooth packages, a full upper arch, and a full smile, upper and lower. To ask what any of these costs, call the practice. The page on bonding a few teeth or the whole smile compares the two approaches.

What changes the price of composite bonding?

What composite bonding costs you depends on your assessment.

The practice fee list says final fees are determined only after assessment and depend on diagnosis, complexity, materials required and the time needed to provide treatment safely. It also says a clinical examination is always required before confirming treatment and cost.

GDC standards require every registered dental professional to give patients a written treatment plan before treatment starts, including a realistic indication of the cost and whether the treatment is NHS or private. If the plan changes, the patient must be told immediately and given an updated version in writing.

What does composite bonding cost to maintain over time?

Maintaining composite bonding means planning for regular re-polishing, a night guard if you grind and, in time, repair or replacement.

Composite bonding has a realistic lifespan of around five years, which varies from person to person. It is not a lifetime treatment, so the total picture takes in the treatment fee and the upkeep and any repairs the bonding needs over the years it lasts.

  • A professional re-polish, recommended every 6 months. Evidence suggests some composite restorations judged for replacement can be solved with a simple new polish.
  • A night guard, which the practice requires if you grind your teeth. Evidence links grinding with a higher risk of composite restorations fracturing.
  • Repair or replacement in time. FDI World Dental Federation policy is that repair is considered case by case, and that repair preserves the existing tooth structure.

The current fee list has no lines for re-polishing, night guards or repairs, so ask at your consultation what upkeep will mean for your costs.

At Deepcar Dental Care, composite bonding comes with 12 months of aftercare cover, covering repairs. The cover excludes accidental trauma and infection.

Our lifespan page explains how long composite bonding lasts and what affects it. If you are weighing porcelain as well, choosing between bonding and veneers has its own comparison. For other cosmetic treatments, the cosmetic dentistry cost page explains what cosmetic dentistry costs.

What is included in composite bonding treatment?

Composite bonding treatment at Deepcar Dental Care includes planning steps, a mock-up and aftercare appointments, alongside the bonding itself. Included in the treatment:

  • Consultation
  • Photographs
  • Intraoral scan
  • Wax-up or digital design
  • Mock-up in the mouth
  • Final polish appointment
  • Review appointment
  • A hygiene visit before treatment
  • An aftercare kit

The mock-up lets you see the planned shape in your mouth before you commit. The current fee list does not say which fee these steps fall under, so ask what your own fee covers.

Typical chair times for the bonding itself vary by case, and in suitable cases the bonding is done in a single visit:

Teeth treatedTypical chair time
One chipped toothAround 1 hour
Four teethAround 2 hours
Six teethAround 3 hours
Eight to ten teethAround 3 hours 20 minutes

Planning comes before the bonding visit. A final polish appointment and a review appointment 2 weeks after treatment follow the bonding visit.

Does Deepcar Dental Care offer finance?

Deepcar Dental Care offers finance, and the practice's finance page covers spreading the cost of treatment. For a regulated credit agreement, FCA rules require the lender to make a reasonable assessment of your creditworthiness, including whether you can afford the repayments, before lending. To ask about finance, call 0114 288 2121.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to bond six teeth?

The current fee list has no line for a six-tooth package, so its fee is not published. A six-tooth package sits alongside four, eight and ten tooth packages, and six-tooth bonding can be completed in a single visit in suitable cases. The practice fee list says final fees are determined only after assessment.

Is composite bonding expensive?

Whether composite bonding is expensive depends on what it costs over the years it lasts, not only on the treatment fee. Bonding lasts around five years, varying from person to person, and needs upkeep in that time. It also usually needs no drilling and no injection, so weigh it on more than the fee alone.

Is composite bonding available on the NHS?

The NHS page on dental services does not name composite bonding, but it says you'll usually need to get cosmetic treatments privately. It says the NHS provides clinically necessary treatment needed to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy, and that your dentist must make clear which treatments can be provided on the NHS and which only privately.

Will grinding my teeth add to the cost of composite bonding?

It can. If you grind your teeth, the practice requires a night guard with composite bonding, and the guard is charged separately. NHS guidance lists worn-down or broken teeth and loss of fillings among the effects of grinding, and says mouth guards are worn at night and protect your teeth from damage.

What happens if my composite bonding chips?

Contact the practice if your bonding chips. Evidence suggests that when a composite restoration needs treatment, repair should be considered as an alternative to replacing it, decided case by case. Within the 12 months of aftercare cover, repairs are covered, except where the damage results from accidental trauma or infection.

Do I need teeth whitening before composite bonding?

No. Whitening before bonding is optional, not required. If you choose both, whitening can be done first, with bonding after. Gum disease and decay are treated before bonding, and crowding can be addressed with aligners first. Whether to whiten first is a choice to talk through with our cosmetic dentists at your consultation.
