How are cosmetic dentistry fees built?
A cosmetic dentistry fee reflects the clinical time, materials and planning a treatment needs, so it varies by treatment and by case. The practice fee list says dental fees account for clinical assessment and diagnosis, treatment planning and risk evaluation, regulated materials and equipment, infection control and ongoing professional accountability.
On the fee list, composite bonding is priced per tooth. Where treatment involves a dental laboratory, no overseas laboratory work is used.
Cosmetic dentistry at Deepcar Dental Care includes composite bonding, composite and porcelain veneers, ceramic crowns, teeth whitening, clear aligners, gum contouring, and tooth recontouring and reshaping. It also includes gap closure, black triangle closure, replacing old discoloured fillings, smile makeovers that combine several treatments, and full mouth cosmetic rehabilitation.
What do cosmetic treatments cost on the current fee list?
The current fee list prices all-ceramic crowns and veneers from £750 to £1,000, and its two whitening lines at £550 and £350. These figures were checked against the practice fee list on 16 October 2026. The fee list says fees are reviewed periodically and may change.
| Fee list line | Fee on the current fee list |
|---|---|
| All Ceramic Crowns & Veneers | from £750 to £1,000 |
| Enlighten Whitening | £550 |
| Home Whitening System | £350 |
Composite bonding adds tooth-coloured composite to the surface of a tooth to change its shape, edges or spacing. The fee list prices it per tooth, as a starting fee without an upper figure, and the bonding cost page sets out what composite bonding costs.
The whitening cost page explains what teeth whitening costs.
Gum contouring, tooth recontouring and reshaping, composite veneers and smile makeovers do not have a line of their own on the current fee list. To ask about the cost of one of these treatments, call 0114 288 2121.
What changes the price of cosmetic treatment?
The number of teeth, the material and any treatment needed first can all change a cosmetic fee. The practice fee list also names its own factors: the extent of decay, damage or wear, the position and accessibility of the tooth, the condition of the surrounding gum and bone, and the time and materials required for safe treatment.
- The number of teeth. Composite bonding is listed per tooth on the fee list.
- The material. Porcelain veneers are made in E.max, feldspathic porcelain or zirconia, chosen to suit the case.
- Visits. Porcelain veneers take 2 to 6 visits, depending on complexity and the number of veneers.
- Treatment needed first. Before composite bonding, gum disease and decay are treated first, and crowding can be addressed with aligners first. Whitening before bonding is optional.
- Grinding. If you grind your teeth, a night guard is required with composite bonding, and it is charged separately.

How do you work out the lifetime cost of cosmetic treatment?
Lifetime cost is the fee plus upkeep, repairs and any replacement over the years a treatment lasts. A lower fee that needs replacing sooner can cost more over the years than a higher fee that lasts longer.
Composite bonding has a realistic lifespan of around five years, which depends on the individual patient, their oral hygiene and their habits, and a professional re-polish is recommended every 6 months. Evidence on composite used to rebuild worn front teeth suggests that minor failures can often be repaired rather than the whole restoration replaced.
Ceramic crowns have a realistic lifespan of 5 to 20 years, depending on the individual patient, their oral hygiene and their habits, and NHS guidance notes that crowns may need to be replaced in the future. For porcelain or composite veneers, ask at your consultation how long the planned veneers are expected to last in your mouth and what upkeep they need. The comparison page sets out how porcelain and composite veneers compare.
For teeth whitening, a top-up is recommended every 6 months, top-up kits are available to previous patients, and whitening trays last around 2 years if well looked after.
12-month aftercare cover applies to crowns and porcelain veneers, giving free repair, free replacement or remake and free adjustments, and composite bonding carries 12-month aftercare cover for repairs. Cover does not apply where damage results from accidental trauma or infection.
What is included with composite bonding and clear aligners?
Composite bonding and clear aligner treatment at Deepcar Dental Care each come with set inclusions. Bonding includes a consultation, photographs, an intraoral scan, a wax-up or digital design and a mock-up in your mouth before you commit. A hygiene visit before treatment, a final polish appointment, a review appointment and an aftercare kit are also included.
Clear aligner treatment is offered as a package. It includes the consultation, scan and digital plan, all aligners, attachments, interproximal reduction (IPR) where needed, reviews, refinements if the teeth need fine-tuning, whitening at the end, retainers and bonding at the end. For other cosmetic treatments, ask what a fee covers before you commit.
Does Deepcar Dental Care offer finance?
Yes, Deepcar Dental Care offers finance, and the practice's finance page explains spreading the cost of treatment. Under FCA rules, a lender must assess your creditworthiness, including whether you can afford the repayments, before lending. To ask whether finance can be used for your treatment, call 0114 288 2121.
What can a fee list not tell you?
A fee list gives a general guide to cosmetic costs, not a quote for your own treatment. The practice fee list says it is not a treatment plan or a fixed cost, that complex cases may require more than one visit, and that estimates may change if clinical conditions differ from the initial assessment.
GDC standards say a dental professional must give you a written treatment plan before treatment starts, including a realistic indication of the cost and whether the treatment is NHS or private. If the plan changes, you should be told straight away and given an updated version in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Is cosmetic dentistry available on the NHS?
Usually not. NHS guidance says the NHS provides clinically necessary treatment needed to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy, and that you will usually need to get cosmetic treatments privately. NHS guidance on teeth whitening says it is not available on the NHS, so it is paid for privately.
How much does a smile makeover cost?
A smile makeover has no line of its own on the current fee list. A smile makeover combines several treatments in one plan. Each makeover is planned case by case, and planning includes a written plan before anything starts. To ask about cost, call 0114 288 2121.
How much do veneers cost?
The current fee list prices all-ceramic crowns and veneers from £750 to £1,000. Composite veneers do not have a line of their own on the fee list. Porcelain veneers are made in E.max, feldspathic porcelain or zirconia, chosen to suit the case, and are covered by 12-month aftercare cover.
Will grinding my teeth add to the cost?
It can. If you grind your teeth, a night guard is required with composite bonding and is charged separately. A 2023 review of composite used on worn front teeth notes that going without a protective splint may contribute to more fractures.
Can I see a plan before I commit to cosmetic treatment?
Yes. Cosmetic planning at the practice includes a trial smile or mock-up in the mouth, a written plan before anything starts and a second consultation before committing. Planning also includes clinical photographs, an intraoral scan and digital smile design. A cosmetic consultation lasts 45 to 60 minutes.
Is cosmetic dentistry worth the cost?
That depends on what you want to change and on how you weigh cost against time. The most useful questions are how long the treatment is expected to last for you and what upkeep it needs. Setting the fee against those years, rather than the headline price alone, gives a fairer comparison between treatments.
