Rotherham clinics that rank for veneers tend to quote a low starting price, around £590, and then stop. Their pages do not say how long a veneer lasts, how many visits it takes, what could go wrong or who will do it. Most importantly, none of them say who should not have veneers, which is the question that saves people money.
At Deepcar Dental Care the consultation starts with that question. Dr Ibraheem Ijaz, who holds a postgraduate certificate in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, looks at your enamel, your gums and your bite before talking about shades. A good number of people who come asking for veneers leave with a different, cheaper plan. Those who do go ahead pay £750 to £1,000 a tooth, agreed in writing, and can spread it at 0% over 6 to 18 months. We are 35 minutes from Rotherham via the M1 and open until 8pm seven days a week.
Porcelain bonds to enamel far better than it bonds to dentine, the softer layer underneath. That single fact decides most of the list below.

One more test we use. If more than about half of the front surface is already filling material, a veneer has too little enamel to grip and will eventually come away; that tooth needs a crown. If a back tooth has been root-treated and is not crowned, it is a fracture waiting to happen, and we will say so even if you came in about something else. Join the M1 northbound and leave at junction 35A. A from-price usually means the simplest composite or entry-level porcelain. Our £750 to £1,000 is for hand-layered lithium disilicate veneers, including the design, temporary and try-in, fitted by the same dentist throughout.
The £85 examination includes X-rays and a full discussion, so even if the answer is whitening or bonding you leave with a plan and a price rather than a sales pitch.
Sometimes, with a night guard and careful bite design, but heavy grinders are better with crowns on back teeth and bonding on front teeth, because chipped porcelain cannot be patched as easily.
Yes. Veneers bonded near inflamed gums develop visible margins as the gum recedes. A course of hygiene treatment first, usually £75 a visit, protects your investment.
No, veneers are cosmetic and not available on the NHS anywhere. NHS crowns are possible where clinically needed, at Band 3, but are rarely all-ceramic.
It depends on how many teeth show when you smile, usually between four and eight. Many people need fewer than they expect once the teeth are whitened first.
