Stocksbridge has one high-street practice offering private crowns and veneers, and its page does not show a price or name a dentist. It also shuts at 5pm on weekdays and does not open at weekends, which is awkward if you work shifts at the steelworks or the Fox Valley shops. The next options are in Hillsborough or the city, 20 to 30 minutes down the valley.
Deepcar Dental Care is five minutes along Manchester Road. The price for a veneer or crown is on this page, the same dentist sees the case through from first look to final polish, and we are open 8am to 8pm every day of the week. If your shift ends at 6, a 7pm fitting is fine. Most of the veneer and crown work we do for Stocksbridge patients fits around a working week rather than eating into it. Free parking is directly outside on the A6102.

Head down Manchester Road (A6102) towards Sheffield. Pass the Fox Valley turning and the Stocksbridge bypass junction, carry on into Deepcar and look for our sign at 334 Manchester Road, before the road drops away towards Wharncliffe Side. Five minutes door to door, and the 57 bus from Stocksbridge stops almost outside. Pull onto the free parking directly in front. Yes. We open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, so early mornings, evenings and weekends are all bookable for both the preparation and the fitting visit.
Veneers are cosmetic and are not provided on the NHS. Crowns can be, but only where clinically necessary and usually in metal or bonded porcelain rather than all-ceramic. We are a private practice and publish our fees.
You are never without one. A temporary veneer or crown is made and fitted at the first visit and stays on for the two weeks the laboratory needs.
The tooth is fully numbed, so you feel pressure and vibration but not pain. Some cold sensitivity with the temporary is common and disappears once the final piece is bonded.
A single front veneer is the hardest match in dentistry, which is why we do a dry try-in in daylight before bonding and send it back if the shade is not right.
Yes, we are a family practice. Veneers and crowns are adult treatments, but children are welcome for check-ups, and a child’s first examination is £39.
