The Chesterfield practices that rank for crowns lead with speed: same-day crowns milled in the building, colour-matched, virtually undetectable. Their pages do not mention a price, a material, a dentist’s name or a single thing that can go wrong. The veneer pages in town are similar, and some “Chesterfield” listings are actually clinics in Mansfield or Matlock.
We take the opposite approach. This page lists the downsides first, because a patient who knows them makes a better decision and is happier with the result. If you still want to go ahead, Dr Ibraheem Ijaz, who holds a postgraduate certificate in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, does the whole case at a fixed fee of £750 to £1,000 a tooth, and we are open 8am to 8pm seven days a week, 45 minutes from Chesterfield up the M1 or the A61.

Same-day is not always better.

Fastest is usually the M1 north from junction 29 to junction 35A, then the A616 towards Manchester for six miles, leaving at the Stocksbridge junction onto Manchester Road (A6102) and down into Deepcar. The A61 through Sheffield and out along the A6102 via Hillsborough is similar in time but slower at rush hour. Either way, allow about 45 minutes. For a back tooth a milled same-day crown is reasonable. For anything that shows when you smile, a laboratory-layered ceramic looks more natural, and that means two visits about a fortnight apart.
Patients from Chesterfield and Dronfield usually book both as Saturday mornings, when the M1 is clear. The appointments themselves are around 90 and 45 minutes.
Low for a healthy tooth, higher for one that already has a deep filling. We look at the X-ray and tell you before you agree, and if it happens, root canal treatment here starts at £450.
Yes. For front teeth we can place a temporary mock-up over your own teeth so you see the shape in the mirror before any enamel is touched.
No. Bite adjustments and polishing in the first few weeks are included in the fee.
NHS crowns are available where clinically needed under Band 3 at £332.10, usually in metal or bonded porcelain. Veneers are not available on the NHS. We are private and publish our fees.
