Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. I’ve always been a bit nervous about dental visits, but they were so kind, patient, and professional. The whole procedure was quick and painless. I walked out with a smile — both literally and figuratively. 10/10!

Composite bonding for Chesterfield: what to ask before you book anywhere

Why Chesterfield patients look north for composite bonding
Chesterfield’s bonding pages are polite and vague. The typical one explains that bonding is minimally invasive, done in one appointment and lasts five to seven years, then sends you to a pricing page where bonding is not listed. There is no named dentist, no appointment length, nothing about anaesthetic, and the practice is shut all weekend. You are left with a phone call to find out anything that matters.
Deepcar is 45 minutes north, either up the M1 to junction 35A or straight through Sheffield on the A61. Patients from Brampton, Walton, Hasland and Wingerworth come because every question on this page is answered before they set off: £300 per tooth in writing, the planning visit inside the new patient examination, the same dentist from plan to polish, and 8am to 8pm opening seven days a week so the drive fits a Sunday. Parking is free at the door.
Ten questions to ask any dentist before you book bonding
These are the questions we would want answered if a member of our own family were booking bonding somewhere else. Our answers follow each one.
What is the total price per tooth, and does it change after the consultation?
Who will actually do the bonding, and what is their training?
How many shades of composite will you layer?
Will you show me the proposed shapes before you start?
Should I whiten first, and how long before?
How is the tooth kept dry?
Will you check my bite afterwards?
What happens if it chips, and what does a repair cost?
How long will it last, honestly?
Can I spread the cost, and at what rate?
If a practice cannot answer the first, second and sixth questions clearly, that tells you something. Our own full description is on the composite bonding page.

Questions, answered
Composite bonding: questions from Chesterfield patients
Is it realistic to do bonding in one trip from Chesterfield?
For one or two teeth, yes, if you tell us when booking so we allow time after the planning examination. For four or more we prefer a planning visit and a separate treatment visit, both bookable at weekends.
Can I ask these questions before I drive up?
Yes. Ring 0114 288 2121 or send photographs on WhatsApp to +44 7438 552 581 and we will answer honestly, including whether bonding is the right treatment at all.
Does bonding need an injection?
Usually not, because no drilling is involved. If a chip sits close to the nerve or an old filling must be removed first, we numb the tooth.
Should I go via Sheffield or the M1?
The M1 to junction 35A is more predictable. The A61 route is fine at weekends but slow through Sheffield on weekday evenings.
I have a missing tooth too. Can you deal with both?
Yes, but not with bonding alone. The gap needs a bridge, denture or implant; our page on implants for Chesterfield patients covers it.
What if bonding breaks and I cannot reach my Chesterfield dentist?
We hold emergency slots every day and repair chipped bonding on the day in most cases, whether or not we placed it.
In their own words
What patients say.
I have been looked after at the practice for many years. Over twenty years later my porcelain veneers are still going strong. Affordable and friendly service. Highly recommend.
