Chesterfield has a wide spread of whitening prices. Practices in the town quote anywhere from £250 on a half-price offer to £450 for a branded home kit, and in-chair light sessions run from £400 to £900. Some courses are sold as three or four nights of gel, which is quick but rarely enough to shift years of tea and coffee. As everywhere, NHS practices cannot offer whitening on the NHS, so it is a private fee wherever you go.
Chesterfield patients who come to us are usually the ones who have already been caught once: a short course that faded, a promotion with an examination fee added on at the chair, or a salon session that hurt. What we offer is a fixed £350 or £550 that includes trays, gel, the review and aftercare, a £85 examination with X-rays, a proper two-to-three-week course, and a dentist you can ring until 8pm seven days a week. Dr Ibraheem Ijaz prescribes the gel and reviews the result himself. The drive is 45 minutes, mostly motorway, three times over a month.

One more, which is not a mistake but a misunderstanding: whitening takes you to your brightest natural shade, not beyond it. The whitest tab on a standard shade guide is a natural tooth colour, and that is what Enlighten aims for. Anything whiter than that is a veneer.

Join the M1 northbound at junction 29 and stay on it to junction 35A, then take the A616 Stocksbridge bypass west and leave at the Deepcar junction onto Manchester Road (A6102). We are at number 334, on the main road, with free parking directly outside and ground-floor surgeries. It is about 45 minutes door to door and avoids Sheffield city centre entirely; the A61 through Sheffield is the alternative if the M1 is slow.
