Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. I’ve always been a bit nervous about dental visits, but they were so kind, patient, and professional. The whole procedure was quick and painless. I walked out with a smile — both literally and figuratively. 10/10!

Bonding for Chapeltown and Ecclesfield, 15 minutes up the valley
If you live in S35 and search for bonding, you will find a local practice advertising ‘up to 20% off’ composite bonding. Twenty per cent off what is not stated. The wider Sheffield pages that rank alongside it quote ‘approximately £250 to £350’ per tooth, name no dentist, and tend to say bonding fixes gaps and crowding without mentioning that aligners exist. A promotion with no base price is not a price.
Deepcar Dental Care is 15 minutes away, either through Grenoside and Oughtibridge or along the A61 and A6102. Patients from Chapeltown, Ecclesfield, High Green, Grenoside and Burncross come because the fee is £300 per tooth with nothing to discount from, the planning visit is part of a £85 examination, the same dentist plans and places the work, and we open 8am to 8pm seven days a week. Free parking is directly outside. We also offer aligners and whitening, so if one of those is the better answer for your teeth you will hear it.
Bonding, aligners or whitening: which fixes what
Three of the most common reasons people ask for bonding are gaps, crooked front teeth and dull colour. Bonding is the right answer for some of these and the wrong one for others. Here is the honest split.
A gap between the front teeth. Up to about two millimetres, bonding closes it in one visit by adding a little width to each tooth, and the result looks natural. Wider than that and the two teeth end up looking like paddles. A gap of three millimetres or more is better closed by moving the teeth with clear aligners over a few months, sometimes with a touch of bonding at the end to perfect the shapes. Bonding is £300 a tooth; aligners from £1,495 an arch. Cheaper is not always better here.
Crooked or rotated front teeth. Bonding can disguise a slight rotation by building out the part that sits back. It cannot straighten anything. Disguising a moderately crowded tooth with composite means adding bulk, which looks bulky. If the teeth are genuinely crowded, aligners first; if you then want the edges tidied, bonding afterwards is quick and cheap. We plan both at the same visit.
Dull or yellow colour. This is the one people most often get wrong. Composite does not brighten a smile; it matches whatever shade your enamel is. If colour is the complaint and the shapes are fine, whitening at £350 does the whole job and bonding is not needed. If both colour and shape bother you, whiten first, wait two weeks, then bond to the new shade.
Chips, worn edges and small teeth. This is bonding’s home ground. No other treatment adds a millimetre to a worn edge or rebuilds a chipped corner in one visit with no drilling. A lateral incisor that is too small, edges worn flat, a corner lost to a bottle top: £300 a tooth, done the same day.
Old discoloured white fillings on front teeth. Bonding replaces them with layered composite in a matching shade. This is often the cheapest single change that makes a smile look cared for.
At the planning visit we photograph and scan your teeth and show you what each option would look like. Sometimes the answer is whitening and two teeth of bonding rather than six teeth of bonding, and the bill is lower. The full description is on the composite bonding page.

Questions, answered
Composite bonding: questions from Chapeltown & Ecclesfield patients
A practice in Ecclesfield offers 20% off bonding. Is that cheaper than £300?
You cannot tell until they show the base price. Ours is £300 per tooth all year with the planning visit at £85, and the total is in writing before you decide.
Which route from Chapeltown is quicker, Grenoside or the A61?
Grenoside and Oughtibridge is shorter and prettier; the A61 and A6102 is easier in bad weather. Both take about 15 minutes outside rush hour.
Can bonding straighten my front teeth?
No. It can disguise a slight rotation, but anything more needs aligners. We plan both at the same £85 visit and tell you which you need.
If I only want whiter teeth, do I need bonding at all?
Usually not. Whitening at £350 changes colour; bonding changes shape. If the shapes are fine, whitening alone is the honest recommendation.
I have lost a tooth at the side. Can bonding fill it?
No, bonding needs a tooth to build onto. See implants for Chapeltown and Ecclesfield patients for replacing it.
What if a bonded edge chips on a Sunday?
We are open Sundays and hold emergency slots every day; a chipped edge is normally rebuilt the same day.
In their own words
What patients say.
I have been looked after at the practice for many years. Over twenty years later my porcelain veneers are still going strong. Affordable and friendly service. Highly recommend.
