I called Friday evening to see if they had emergency appointments due to serious tooth pain. They were very polite and willing to accommodate. Due to me being a 45-minute drive away — the closest dentist I could find on Google that was open — they assured me they would see me when I got there. Upon arrival the staff were so polite and welcoming. The expertise and advice before the procedure was amazing. Definitely worth the trip to get the pain away. 100% recommend them.

S35 patients, and what the nearest aligner pages leave unsaid
Chapeltown and Ecclesfield sit between north Sheffield’s clinics and us, and the nearest aligner page you will find is more forthcoming than most: a starting price a little over £1,900, a named dentist, a free video consultation and monitoring through a phone app. What it does not say is whether retainers are in the price, what happens after the twelve months of 0% finance run out, who is unsuitable, or how straightening fits with the bonding and whitening the same page sells.
That last question is the one we hear most from S35. People want their front teeth to look better and are not sure whether that means moving, reshaping or whitening them. At Deepcar Dental Care, fifteen minutes away through Grenoside, straightening starts at £1,495 per arch with retainers included, 0% finance runs to 18 months, and every review is in person with the same dentist. And we will always tell you the order to do things in, because doing them in the wrong order costs money twice.
Move the teeth first: why sequence matters more than any single treatment
Bonding, veneers and whitening all change the surface of a tooth. Straightening changes where the tooth is. Do the surface first and you are decorating a tooth that then moves, or worse, you are trying to hide a position problem with bulk.
Before bonding
Composite bonding adds resin to the front and edges of a tooth. If a tooth sits a millimetre behind its neighbours, bringing its surface forward with resin means a tooth a millimetre thicker than the rest, which looks and feels like a step. Straighten first and the bonding becomes a thin skim to even the edges, which lasts longer and costs less. The best bonding cases we do had four to six months of aligners first.
Before veneers
A veneer on a crooked tooth needs more enamel removed to bring it into line, sometimes into the dentine underneath, which is where sensitivity and future root canals come from. Aligning the tooth first means a thinner veneer on more enamel, or often no veneer at all once the tooth is in place and whitened. The old habit of using veneers as instant orthodontics is the one we most want to talk people out of.
Before whitening
Whitening gel needs the tray to sit closely against every surface. Overlapping teeth shield each other, so the hidden edges stay darker and show once the teeth are straightened. Aligners and whitening trays also compete for the same twenty-two hours a day. So the order is: straighten, then whiten, then any bonding, because resin does not whiten and must be matched to the final shade.
What this means in practice: the £85 examination looks at all three questions together, and the written plan sets out the order, the months and the total for each stage, so you can stop after straightening if that turns out to be enough. It often is; teeth in the right place are more forgiving of small chips and colour than teeth in the wrong place.
Fees for straightening and what usually follows it
0% finance is available over 6 to 18 months, or up to 60 months at 10.9% APR representative through Tabeo, subject to status; see the fees page for every other price, and each stage is agreed in writing before it starts.

Questions, answered
Teeth straightening: questions from Chapeltown & Ecclesfield patients
Is Deepcar closer than the north Sheffield clinics for Chapeltown?
About the same in minutes, but against the traffic and with free parking at the end. From High Green and Burncross we are usually the quicker option.
Can I just have bonding and skip the aligners?
If your teeth are in the right place and only the edges are uneven, yes. If a tooth sits behind the others, bonding alone leaves it looking thick. The scan at the first visit shows which you have.
Why do you review in person rather than through an app?
An app photograph shows whether an aligner is seated; it does not show gum inflammation, a loose attachment or a tooth that is tipping rather than moving. A ten-minute look every six to eight weeks does.
What happens to the 0% finance after 12 months?
Our 0% terms run up to 18 months, and longer terms are at 10.9% APR representative, so the interest rate is fixed at the start rather than changing partway through.
Do retainers cost extra?
No. Removable retainers are included and fitted on the day treatment finishes. A bonded wire behind the teeth is an option we price in the plan if you want it.
I am missing a premolar. Does that change the order?
Straightening first, then the implant, so the space is right. Our implants for Chapeltown and Ecclesfield page sets out the timing.

Visited today for a private emergency appointment. The practice was very clean and tidy, the staff very friendly and helpful. They really listened to my concerns and put me at ease. Addressed the problem and extracted my tooth — nothing was too much trouble. Swift service — top notch.
