I called Friday evening to see if they had emergency appointments due to serious tooth pain. They were very polite and willing to accommodate. Due to me being a 45-minute drive away — the closest dentist I could find on Google that was open — they assured me they would see me when I got there. Upon arrival the staff were so polite and welcoming. The expertise and advice before the procedure was amazing. Definitely worth the trip to get the pain away. 100% recommend them.

Worksop’s straightening prices, and the page that is not in Worksop
The town’s own practice publishes a price, but it is one of the highest in the region, over £4,500, alongside a fixed-brace price of a little over £1,100, with nothing to explain why one is four times the other or which you would be offered. The other page that ranks for Worksop turns out, when you read the address, to be a clinic in Rotherham quoting a weekly figure with no total attached.
Forty-five minutes is a long way, so here is what Deepcar Dental Care offers in return: front-teeth straightening from £1,495 per arch with retainers included, a four-to-nine-month timeline, seven-day opening so reviews fall on a quiet Sunday drive, and one dentist who plans the case and sees it through. The first visit ends with a digital scan and a simulated result. The rest of this page is about how to read that picture honestly.
Reading the simulation: what it shows, what it flatters, what only X-rays reveal
The scanner is a small wand that photographs your teeth thousands of times a second and stitches them into a 3D model in a few minutes; no putty, no gagging. Planning software then moves the model’s teeth into a proposed final position and shows you the before and after side by side. It is a useful tool and a sales tool, so here is what it can and cannot tell you.
What the scan is reliable about
- How crowded the teeth are, measured in millimetres, which decides whether space can be made by tipping the teeth outward or by polishing a fingernail’s thickness of enamel from between them.
- Whether the case is front-teeth-only. If the software has to move molars to make the front work, you are looking at a full orthodontic case and a specialist orthodontist.
- How many aligners the plan needs, and therefore how many months, since each aligner moves a tooth about a quarter of a millimetre.
Where the picture flatters
- Rotations. The software turns a twisted tooth as easily as it tips one; real aligners rotate round teeth like canines slowly and sometimes not fully. Expect optimism here.
- Gums. The model shows gum following the teeth neatly. In adults whose teeth overlapped, small dark triangles can appear at the gum line once the overlap is gone. The scan does not predict them.
- Colour and edges. The after-picture is often shown whiter and with level edges. Straightening alone changes neither; those are whitening and bonding, priced separately.
- Compliance. The simulation assumes 22 hours a day of wear. It has no way of knowing whether you will manage that.
What only the X-rays show
The scan sees the crowns of the teeth. It cannot see the roots, the bone around them, or the gum disease that quietly removes that bone. Teeth are moved through bone, so we X-ray before any plan is sent for manufacture, and a short root or thin bone changes how far a tooth can safely travel. A simulation shown without X-rays is a picture of a plan that has not been checked.

Questions, answered
Teeth straightening: questions from Worksop patients
How many times would I have to drive from Worksop?
Usually seven to nine visits over four to nine months, each review ten to fifteen minutes. We space reviews at the longer end for patients travelling this far.
Is it worth 45 minutes when Worksop has its own aligner provider?
That depends on the quote you get locally and whether it comes with retainers, X-rays and a named dentist. Compare the written totals; the difference for a single-arch case can be several thousand pounds.
Can I see the simulation before I pay anything?
You pay for the £85 examination, which includes the X-rays and the scan, and you see the simulated result before deciding on treatment. There is no deposit until you have the written plan.
Why are the fixed braces in Worksop so much cheaper than aligners?
Metal fixed braces are cheaper to make, which is why that price is low. Here, aligners and tooth-coloured fixed braces on the front teeth cost the same, and we recommend whichever suits you.
Can the scan tell if I have gum disease?
No; it shows the surface of the teeth only. Bleeding on probing and the bone levels on X-ray tell us that, which is why both come before any plan.
I have a missing tooth. Does the scan plan for that too?
It shows the space, and we plan the straightening so that space is the right size for an implant afterwards; see our implants for Worksop page.

What patients say.
Dr Ibrahim helped me today with a difficult extraction. He is my hero for the dedication, skill and professionalism shown today. It was a tough one but wow. I was in so much pain and he saved me from it. I am eternally grateful to him. Just brilliant.
Visited today for a private emergency appointment. The practice was very clean and tidy, the staff very friendly and helpful. They really listened to my concerns and put me at ease. Addressed the problem and extracted my tooth — nothing was too much trouble. Swift service — top notch.
