Sheffield has more aligner providers than almost any city its size, and the prices on their websites run from about £1,490 for a two-month tidy-up to over £4,500 for a full case. The spread is confusing because the numbers are not measuring the same thing. One clinic quotes both arches, another quotes one; one bundles whitening and a polish into the headline figure, another adds them on afterwards. Very few tell you what turns a cheap case into an expensive one.
At Deepcar Dental Care we publish one number, £1,495 per arch, and we explain below what moves it. Retainers are included, not sold separately at the end. You see the same dentist from the first scan to the day your retainers are fitted, and because we open 8am to 8pm every day, review appointments fit around a Sheffield working week rather than fighting it.
Every aligner moves a tooth by roughly a quarter of a millimetre. That single fact explains most of the cost. A case that needs the front six teeth to shift two millimetres each needs far fewer aligners, fewer reviews and fewer months than one where a canine has to rotate ninety degrees. When you are quoted a price, the honest question is: how far do my teeth have to travel, and how many of them are moving?

Take the A61 Penistone Road out past Hillsborough, then follow the A6102 through Oughtibridge and along the valley. The practice is at 334 Manchester Road in Deepcar, on the left before you reach Stocksbridge, about 25 minutes from the city centre outside rush hour. It is the starting price for a straightforward front-teeth case, and the exact fee is written into your plan after the scan and X-rays. Nothing is added once treatment has started; if the plan changes, so does the paperwork, before anything happens.
Partly overheads, and partly scope. We treat the front six to eight teeth in months rather than reshaping a whole bite over years, and we do not bundle whitening or polishing into the headline figure. If you want whitening afterwards, that is priced separately on our fees page.
We use clear aligner systems and tooth-coloured fixed braces chosen for the case in front of us rather than a single brand. The plastic is the easy part; the planning and the retention are what decide the result.
Yes. We are open 8am to 8pm seven days a week, so early, late and weekend reviews are normal here rather than a favour.
Yes, always. They show the roots and the bone around them, which is what the teeth have to move through. The £85 new patient examination includes them.
We will tell you at the first visit and refer you to a specialist orthodontist. If you later want implants or bonding alongside straightening, we plan those together.
