Dore and Totley are the far side of Sheffield from us, 30 to 40 minutes away. Dore patients come for same-day slots seven days a week and for the restorative work that follows.

Let us be straight about the geography. Dore is in the south-west corner of Sheffield and Deepcar is in the north-west, and the drive between them crosses the whole city: 21.7 kilometres and 31 minutes with clear roads, closer to 40 in traffic. There are dentists nearer to Dore. Patients from S17 choose Deepcar Dental Care for three reasons. First, emergency slots held every single day, 8am to 8pm, Sundays and most bank holidays included, with a dentist answering the phone overnight. Second, they are often people with a lot of existing dental work, crowns, veneers, implants, who want an emergency dentist equipped to look after it: a dental microscope for root canals and a CBCT scanner for anything involving an implant or a cracked root. Third, the same team can finish the work afterwards.
For NHS urgent care from Dore, call NHS 111 or use 111 online; the dental triage runs 24 hours but urgent appointments are limited and may be some way off. Charles Clifford Dental Hospital on Wellesley Road is a 20-minute drive from Dore and a great deal closer than we are. Its weekday urgent clinic, staffed by supervised students, runs 9 to 11 in the morning and 2 to 3 in the afternoon and is free, so for a weekday problem where cost is the priority it is a sensible first call. For anything that threatens the airway, adults go to the Northern General on Herries Road and children to Sheffield Children's Hospital on Western Bank. Neither will treat the tooth itself; for that you need a dentist.
From Dore village or Dore and Totley station, take Abbeydale Road South and Abbeydale Road, the A621, into town, join the A61 inner ring road at St Mary's Gate and follow it round to Penistone Road. Turn off onto Parkside Road and Catch Bar Lane, the A6102, and follow it north through Hillsborough as Middlewood Road, Langsett Road South and finally Manchester Road in Deepcar. The practice is on the right with free parking in front. From Totley, Ecclesall Road South and Ecclesall Road to Brocco Bank and Western Bank, joining the A61 at Netherthorpe Road, takes about the same time.
Public transport is not realistic for an emergency from Dore: train, tram and the 57 bus come to around an hour and a quarter.
Dore emergencies are rarely about neglect. More often they are the failure of something well made a long time ago:
A vertical root fracture usually means the tooth cannot be saved. The honest thing is to say so on the day and talk about an implant or a bridge, rather than attempt a repair that will fail in a few months.
The examination is £30, takes 15 minutes and includes X-rays; a CBCT scan is £150 if the problem needs a three-dimensional view. Every treatment is priced in writing before it starts, with 0% finance over 6 to 18 months through Tabeo for larger plans, and an out-of-hours charge after 6pm on weekdays and at weekends. The prices are on emergency dental fees and the visit itself is described on same-day emergency appointment.
Once the pain is under control, the follow-up can be done here or with your own dentist; we write to them if you ask. On a weekday morning, if cost is the main concern, possibly: it is closer, free and staffed by supervised students. It does not open evenings or weekends and you may queue. We are open 8am to 8pm every day and you are seen by a qualified dentist, at a cost.
Yes. A loose implant crown, a lost screw cover or swelling around an implant can be examined and usually treated at the first visit. We have a CBCT scanner on site for a proper look at the bone if needed.
If the veneer is intact, it can often be rebonded the same day. If it is broken, a temporary crown or a composite build-up will get you through the event, with a permanent replacement made afterwards.
Yes. Totley and Bradway are a few minutes beyond Dore and the route into town is the same.
Only if you want to. After the emergency visit we can hand over to your own dentist with a written summary, or complete the work here. Many Dore patients choose to stay for root canals and implants because of the microscope and the scanner.
